This past month Adobe’s most famous software Photoshop turned 25 years old. The photo editing software which has become so synonymous with the concept of touching up, enhancing and transforming digital photos that we simply call it “photoshopping”. Photoshop revolutionized the art of photo processing and our perception of reality, from ideals of beauty to media manipulation.

Adobe Photoshop started as a basic computer program which was only able to display a black and white image on a computer screen. Now a quarter century later, Photoshop is one of the most powerful image editing tools in the world. And the software seems to be everywhere: on our computers and smartphones, social media, in fashion magazines, newspapers and even our subconscious.

To mark the 25th anniversary of their flagship product, Adobe photoshopped together a series of the best known and most creative uses of the program, set to Aerosmith’s ‘Dream On’. In the video Adobe showcases the full potential of Photoshop in all its high-concept, psychedelic glory. These PSDs were then animated layer by layer to create a film made in Photoshop and has attracted over 1.5 Million views already.
